Class galloper AEGON looks ready to produce his best form after returning excellent work this week.
On the plough AEGON followed impressive Tuesday work with an easier task over 1000m in 1:11.1, with the final 600m in 39.1. He has the benefit of a recent trial since returning from Australia and should be hard to beat in Saturday’s Group I Rydges Wellington Captain Cook Stakes at Te Rapa.
PUYSEGUR was another to catch the eye when completing 1000m in 1:7.4, the last 600m in 38.1. She didn't get much luck fresh up when finishing a credible 4th. She has derived benefit from the run and looks a top chance at Te Rapa this weekend.
CONCERT HALL looked fit for Saturday’s Cal Isuzu Stakes when sent a comfortable 1000m in 1:12.8, finishing off in 42.7.
Stablemates TRAVELLING LIGHT and MISS MADISON matched strides over 1200m in 1:21.1, running the last 600m in 39.3. Both should race well at Te Rapa.
WESSEX, who was a winner on debut and MR MAESTRO, a recent trial winner, came in from the 600m in 38. They are race rivals at Te Rapa but both have drawn wide.
Skycity Hamilton Waikato Cup contender ROBUSTO, strode 1400m in 1.40, completing the final 600m in 41. ONEROA ran an easy 600m in 40.7. MARRONI left 1000m behind in 1:8.9 and 38.8.
PURE CHAMPION|LIBBY SURPRISE cut out 1000m in 1:8.4, the concluding 600m in 39.2. CONTEMPLATION worked nicely over 1000m in 1:6.6 and 38.8. ROCCIA was let off with 800m in 57.
SPRING DELIGHT ran 1000m in 1:9.5, home in 40. PROVIDENCEPROVIDES came to the end of 1000m in 1:9.8 and 40.1. PAREANUI BAY followed in 1:7.2, the 600m in 37.8.
LADY KOVAL and MUSTANG VALLEY were on terms throughout 800m, the 600m in 38.9. FIELD OF GOLD returned 54.8 for 800m.
FOUR QUEENS, PRINCE OF TALLIN and TUTUKAKA completed 1200m in 1:23.6, finishing off in 40.2.
