The Cambridge Jockey Club mourns the sad passing of Sir Patrick Hogan, a Life Member of our Club and a much valued President from 1985 to 1988.

The Awards bestowed on Sir Patrick have been well documented and more importantly, so well deserved, for a man who took enormous risks to become a worldwide expert in the breeding of thoroughbred racehourses.

His farewell on Wednesday, 11 January was testament to a well admired man, with people from all walks of life paying their respects to someone who touched many lives.

He will be sadly missed, not only by his much loved family, but by us all in the racing industry.

Our thoughts are with Justine, Nicola and Erin and the extended family – may they take comfort in the fact that Sir Patrick loved them all dearly and his love must live on with them forever.
