Mary Shan sounded a firm warning to her Barneswood Farm 51st New Zealand 1000 Guineas opponents at Riccarton with encouraging work this morning.

Mary Shan from the Forsman stable edged ahead of stablemate Armino, clocked from the 1000m in 1.8 sprinting the last 600m in 37.4.

Mary Shan was desperately unlucky in the Soliloquy stakes last start and should be tough to beat in the three-year old filly’s classic.

First Innings, Force of Nature and Koheroa also from the Forsman stable hit the finish of an impressive 800m in 50.4 dashing the concluding 600m in 36.2.  The quickest of the session this morning. 


Talented filly Orchestral returned a smart solo 800m in 52.1 sprinting the last 600m in 36.6.

Pinion is making nice progress towards the Franklin Auctions Counties cup later in the month,

He was sent 1700m completing the 1600m in 1.50 the final 600m in 40.2.

Orange Pearl caught the eye with nice work over 800m clocked from the 600m in 36.8. He had a hard run when trapped wide the entire race last start.



Tellall and Impendabelle worked well together over 1000m 1.8.9 home in 37.5.

Queen of Kings and Harlow Rocks matched strides from the 600m in 38.4.

Margaret Jean came in from the 600m in 38.

Windspeed left 1000m Behind in 1.10.4 home in 39.9.

Harry Gee and Oban came to the end of 1000m in 1.9 and 38.6.

Dangerous liaisons and Wind of Change were timed the last 600m of 1000m in 39.

The Diviner strode 1200m in 1.24 quickening over the last 600m in 39.3.

She's A Hustler returned 40.9 from the 600m. 

Medina did well over 600m running home in 37.3.

Hoard The Bourbon ran the concluding 600m of 1000m in 39.5. 

Dubai Diva followed in 41.

Tellmeyouloveme ran the last 600m of work in 38.7. 

Endean Affair left 1200m behind in 1.20.1 sprinting home in 37.8.

Pow Tong was comfortable throughout 1400m the concluding 1000m in 1.13 and the final 600m in 43.
