MUSTANG VALLEY and SAMARKAND returned excellent work when preparing for Saturday's Piazza D’Oro Auckland Futurity Stakes this morning.

With many locals engaged at the Te Rapa Trials later in the day, only few gallops took place.

On the No.2 grass (dead) MUSTANG VALLEY had the better of SAMARKAND over the final stages of 1200m, run in 1:19.5, sprinting the last 600m in 37.1. MUSTANG VALLEY, who rattled home late after missing the start at Matamata on debut earlier in the month, looks well above average and should be hard to beat in the 1400m 2yo Feature at Ellerslie.

LUBAYA was another to impress with a solo workout over 1200m, the last 1000m in 1:6.3, dashing the final 600m in 36.6.

POTOSI and RICH GIRL were together at the completion of 1000m, clocked in 1:8.4, coming the concluding 600m in 39.

Working on the all-weather track CYBER ATTACK and DIVINE DIVE maintained a solid clip from the 1000m in 1:4.2, sprinting the last 600m in 36.1. UNDER THE PUMP worked well from the 800m, the final 600m in 38.8.

DAWN PARADE and BENTAYGA matched strides over 1000m in 1:6.3, finishing the last 600m in 37.

STYLISH SUGGESTION was not pushed when running 1000m in 1:12.2, home in 42.5.

PACKING JOY strode 1200m in 1:27.4, the 600m in 42.8. ASPIRING followed in 1:26.6 and 42.3.

Last start winner OSAKA was not after time when clocked 1000m in 1.13, home in 42.6. KASHFLO ran the final 600m of 800m in 41.

REY SOL left 1200m behind in 1:22.3, the last 600m in 40.4. CASPER and LOLITA were on terms throughout 800m, the 600m in 39.

NOZI CYCLONE came to the end of 1000m in 1:7.3 and 38.2. HOT PINX returned 51.7 and 38 for 800m.

MONGOLIAN WINGS and CURRENT SURGE were clocked from the 600m in 37.1.
