MUSTANG VALLEY and SAMARKAND returned excellent work when preparing for Saturday's Piazza D’Oro Auckland Futurity Stakes this morning.
With many locals engaged at the Te Rapa Trials later in the day, only few gallops took place.
On the No.2 grass (dead) MUSTANG VALLEY had the better of SAMARKAND over the final stages of 1200m, run in 1:19.5, sprinting the last 600m in 37.1.
